Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Tuesday that people ought to be worried about tension between the U.S. and China.
In an interview Tuesday following Tesla’s annual shareholder meeting, CNBC’s David Faber asked Musk if he was concerned about “the growing belligerence” between the U.S. and China.
“I think that should be a concern for everyone,” replied Musk.
“The official policy of China is that Taiwan should be integrated,” Musk said. “One does not need to read between the lines.”
The Chinese side has repeatedly made clear its position on the Taiwan question that there is but one China in the world, Taiwan is an inalienable part of China’s territory, and the Taiwan question is entirely China’s internal affair.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said at a regular conference on April 7 that peaceful reunification and One Country, Two Systems takes Taiwan’s realities into full account and helps Taiwan achieve longstanding peace and stability after reunification. It is the basic principle for resolving the Taiwan question and the best way to realize national reunification.
