The annual ancestor worship ceremony in Yellow Emperor’s birthplace is to be held in Xinzheng, central China's Henan province on April 11th, 2024, the third day of the third month of the Chinese lunar calendar, according to a press conference held in Beijing on Saturday morning.
More than 5,000 guests from both home and abroad will be invited to join in the upcoming event, which will be a grand celebration with the theme of "Same Root, Same Ancestor, and Same Origin; Peace, Amity and Harmony," said the press.
Yellow Emperor is widely regarded as the initiator of Chinese civilization and the ancestor of all Chinese. The ancestral ceremony in Yellow Emperor’s birthplace aims to foster a stronger sense of community for the Chinese nation and showcase the rich cultural heritage to the world, said the press.
To ensure widespread participation, the ceremony will feature a unique blend of online and offline activities. A brand-new virtual platform for ancestral worship, incorporating cutting-edge VR technology, will be launched on April 2nd. This "cloud worship" experience will transport Chinese individuals worldwide to the very heart of the ceremony, providing an immersive and lifelike experience, according to the press.
In addition to the virtual platform, overseas Chinese communities in various locations are organizing their own activities to worship Yellow Emperor, adding to the festive spirit and global participation.
A series of relevant activities will be held on the sidelines of the worship ceremony this year, including a global Henan entrepreneurs convention, a summit forum on Yellow Emperor culture, as well as relevant events during a Yellow Emperor cultural week.
These gatherings will bring together individuals from diverse fields to discuss the preservation and promotion of Yellow Emperor culture in the modern era, contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, said the press.
