The Seventh Belt and Road Initiative Short Video Competition was officially launched recently. The event was sponsored by the China Public Diplomacy Association and Global Times Online, with support from the News Center of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council.

The event, themed "Together, for a Brighter Future," comprises a global competition zone and several overseas regional competition zones, and will be joined by Belt and Road constructors and people worldwide.

The competition aims to showcase how the vision of the Belt and Road Initiative is becoming a reality and bearing rich fruit, highlighting the positive changes and tangible outcomes achieved through international collaboration.

Now the call for entries has officially opened online. Participants can submit their works either as individuals or on behalf of organizations. All entries will undergo an initial screening by the organizing committee, followed by public voting and expert review. The final list of winners will be determined primarily based on the scores given in the expert review session, complemented by the comprehensive analysis of the spread and reach of the entries.

For the first time, the global competition zone will feature four main competition tracks: Enterprise, City, University, and Special Category. This new format encourages enterprises from Belt and Road partner countries and their cities actively promoting cross-cultural exchanges, universities engaged in international cooperation, and various organizations to share their Belt and Road stories. A total of 13 major awards will be presented, including the Overseas Competition Award, Excellent Work Award and Outstanding Organizer Award, etc. The award ceremony will be held in November 2025.

Since its inception in 2019, the annual event has hosted six sessions, gaining widespread participation and high praise. Last year, the event received over 2,000 entries from more than 130 countries and regions, which garnered over 1.5 billion views globally. These works vividly illustrated the vision of people-to-people bonds and shared prosperity under the BRI.

The seventh Belt and Road Initiative Short Video Competition is expected to further boost global consensus, promote cross-cultural understanding, and inject greater cultural vitality into the high-quality development of the Belt and Road.
